That conversation I just posted was from an asshole that contacted me about outsourcing some work. He started acting all condescending and shit when he found out I don’t have a degree and I’m self taught. Clearly that man is better than me because he paid thousands to be force fed knowledge. The same knowledge (and more), might I add, that I’ve picked up on my own… Because...

Yes. I actually do have a job thank you.
Me: Yeah, I freelance doing web design/development.
Steve: Oh. Why don't you go through college and get a degree? After that you could actually get a real job in the industry.
Me: So... I work a freelance job doing web design, to save for a degree in design, so i can work as a web designer? Makes sense.
Steve: Well freelancing isn't really a job.
Me: How much do you make an hour now that you've graduated?
Steve: That's personal. But I make $13 an hour. Usually getting 30 hour work weeks. So the money is great.
Me: Ah. I made that when I started, the money is good. I make $15 an hour now though. Since I'm freelance I can actually work on multiple clients in an hour, so sometimes my rate effectively doubles. But it isn't a real job or anything, it's not like I'm making twice the income you are... Without a degree.
